Lyon: bus destinations and tickets

Where to travel from Lyon

Start with these route pages: Lyon — Cherkasy, Lyon — Chernihiv, Lyon — Chernivtsi, Lyon — Dnipro, Lyon — Ivano-Frankivsk, Lyon — Kharkiv. Open your chosen route, enter the date and passenger count, and compare the departures found. If your departure day is flexible, check nearby dates under the same search conditions.

Plan the bus journey from Lyon around your meeting, work, holiday or onward travel. Check the destination and date carefully. If another leg follows the bus, compare the stop addresses and leave time between separately booked journeys.

What to check before buying a ticket

Check the cities, date, time, passenger count and contact details. If travelling with a child, read the operator’s age conditions. Check arrangements for extra luggage, a pushchair or unusual items before paying. For international travel, verify the required documents separately for your citizenship and itinerary.

Read the refund and change rules for the particular offer you select. If your plans may change, take those conditions into account when comparing options. After booking, save the ticket and boarding information where you can quickly find them during the journey.

Comparing fares and journey times

First enter your travel date and all passengers: the prices and departure options relate to those search conditions. Compare the fares shown, then check the final amount during booking. Look at luggage conditions and any additional services; a low starting price alone does not determine how convenient the whole journey will be.

To find the fastest option, compare the stated durations of the services found. Also check the departure time, arrival date and whether a change is required. For international travel, leave a margin before onward transport or an important meeting: the actual arrival may differ from the timetable.

Preparing for your boarding stop

If you are arriving in Lyon on another transport service, plan the journey from your arrival point to your boarding stop. Allow time to get off, collect your belongings, travel across the city and find the bus. For an early departure or late arrival, work out in advance how to get there with your luggage.

In Lyon, do not rely only on the city name printed on your ticket. Use the exact stop address for your selected departure, as the boarding point depends on the service. Check that the address in the journey details matches your ticket and save the contact details provided.

Planning your arrival and return journey

Check the drop-off address and arrival date, especially when the bus arrives after midnight. Give anyone meeting you the stop for your particular service, or plan the journey to your hotel, home or onward transport.

If continuing with a separately purchased ticket, leave time between arrival and your next departure. For the return to Lyon, check the reverse route for your date: times, stops and conditions may differ from the outward journey.
